Future community pool

Navigating a path forward for Snoqualmie Valley.

Why a new pool is needed

The Si View Pool, built in the 1930s for a town of fewer than 1,000 people, is now the only public indoor pool serving nearly 40,000 residents. Despite recent repairs, the facility is aging and no longer meets the needs of a growing community. Each season, hundreds of students are waitlisted for swim lessons.

A community-driven vision

  • A 2019 feasibility study, shaped by public input, recommended a pool designed for all ages and abilities.
  • A 2024 community survey confirmed a new pool as the top investment priority.
  • Bond measures in 2020, 2022 and 2023 received majority support but narrowly missed the 60% supermajority required.

Latest direction: a regional approach

In early 2026 the District completed an updated estimate for building a full regional aquatic center in one phase: $68 million. The Snoqualmie Valley Aquatics Collaborative (SVAC), formed in 2024, is now researching a Recreation Service Area, a larger regional jurisdiction that could reflect the full user base and fund a project of this scale. Valley Pool Together is leading that research.

Keeping today's pool running

  • 2024: new circulation pump and motor for clearer water.
  • 2025: a six-week closure for new pool surfacing, boiler replacement, plumbing and tile repairs, and an all-gender changing room.

Documents

Design note: Long reports like the 127-page 2024 survey are untagged PDFs today. Our accessibility strategy for documents like these is in the proposal: an accessible summary page (like this one) for every major report, and remediation of the full PDF only where people need it to take part in a decision.
