Registering for swim lessons
Swim lessons are in high demand and classes often fill quickly during open enrollment. Register early, and use the waitlist if a class is full: if a space opens, waitlisted participants are contacted. District residents get a priority registration period for open-enrollment sessions, including swim lessons, swim team and water safety courses.
- In December, registration opens for Session A.
- In May, everyone can register for Sessions D and E and the weeklong summer lessons.
- In August, registration opens for Session F.
Priority sessions (B, C, G, H) reserve space for students enrolled in the session immediately before, because completing a level usually takes about 10 hours of instruction, longer than one session.
Lesson options
Group lessons
Ages 6 months through adult. Infant and toddler classes need a parent in the water. New: Intro to Swim (ages 5½–12), a 30-minute small-group class for children who are hesitant or fearful around water.
Adult lessons
For swimmers already comfortable in shallow water, in beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Private lessons
Ages 3 and older, with a limited number of openings through the year. Siblings should be at or near the same level.
Developmental swim team
Prepares swimmers for USA Swimming teams. We recommend completing Youth Level 6 first.
